Timber in tall buildings and 3E Panels in tiny house

Timber in tall buildings and 3E Panels in tiny house

Timber, one of the best construction materials has gained increasing attention from researchers and industry leaders, due to the numerous benefits it brings to construction:

  • Natural resource
  • Ecological and sustainable
  • Carbon negative
  • Great insulation
  • Energy efficient
  • Easy to work
  • Quick to build …

Just to name a few!

Take a look at this video from AFAC News showing the leading work being done at The University of Queensland’s Future Timber Hub and how effective engineered timber is in tall building projects and the benefits that sustainable timber construction can provide.

Together with UQ research team, and through the ARC Future Timber Hub Project on “The optimisation of wood-based mass-panels for Australian building systems”, 3E Panels has built up a Tiny House, using the 3E panel system to demonstrate an efficient solution for building construction.

The Tiny House, which was erected within 7 hours (the house floors and walls in 1.5 hours) has demonstrated many benefits of the 3E panel system.  Similar to timber, 3E panels use naturally sourced, eco-friendly materials thus sustainable to our environment; however, 3E panels also provide extra benefits including

 – lightweight

– structural ability

– insulation effect, and

– low-cost and rapid on-site assembly.
